Some Color, Some Smoke, and Kah Blam! by Rachael Afra

Some Color, Some Smoke, and Kah Blam! by Rachael Afra

We're back on the spice trail!

Today, we'll explore two popular spices—Turmeric and Paprika, and one flavorful spice mix—Berbere. Turmeric, Paprika, and Berbere are all distinctive in color, flavor, and aroma; each has an exciting spice trade history. Today, home chefs love them for their pop of color and use them as a healthy choice on their daily food journey.

These three outshine their neighbors since they are warming to the body and tangy on the tongue. Turmeric is ideal for making healthy drinks or colorful teas and garnishing dishes with its fiery orange color. Paprika is a smoky mild ground chili pepper used in Spanish and Hungarian cooking. Berbere is an aromatic mix that fills the room. Join me as I show how these spices come together in your dishes and leave a lasting impression on guests.

Next, I will discuss Turmeric! See you there!
