Grain oils are not as widely known. Even though corn oil falls under the umbrella of seed oils, it isn't a seed, so we'll place it in two categories. Processing plants extract both grain oils—wheat germ and corn—from the germ of the grain.
Wheat germ oil is a nutritionally dense oil, jam-packed with health benefits. Remember, if you have health problems, please listen to your doctor. This beauty is best for salad dressings, light cooking, and baking. With its low smoking point, I don't recommend deep-frying foods. Used topically for skin and hair treatments, the Omega-3 fatty acids give your beauty rituals an added boost. Savor wheat germ oil in moderation since too much isn't good for you.
Corn oil, with its high smoking point, is optimal for deep frying. You'll find it as a base oil for mayonnaise as it emulsifies with egg yolks, mustard, lemon juice or vinegar, and seasonings.
Consider trying wheat germ or corn oils in 2023 atop proteins, vegetables, herbs, citrus, fruits, and natural foods to make a balanced healthy lifestyle more flavorful!
